Trakstar Hire Jobs Widget

Many potential candidates find your website, learn about your company, and want to apply for open positions. It only makes sense to give them a convenient, seamless spot to do this from within your website. Using the Jobs Widget to display your jobs on your website gives them this environment.

Plus, it's a win for your team - the widget is easy to set up, it takes on the look and feels of your website, and the candidates who apply there will route directly into Trakstar Hire!

Here's an example of how the Job Widget will look on your website:

Setting up the Jobs Widget is incredibly fast - in less than ten minutes, you'll have all of your openings displayed!

Where do I get the code for the Jobs Widget?

Any Super Admin on the account can access the jobs widget code by the following steps:

  • Click on the arrow next to your initials to access "Company Settings" in the upper right corner of your account.

  • Under "Job Boards and Publishing," you'll find "Careers Site" - click here to access the widget code.

  • Click on the tab labeled "Jobs Widget."

  • On this page, you will see the code for the widget. This is what you need to copy and paste on the backend of your website to display the Jobs Widget.

  • It may be handy to send this code to the person who manages your website. You can send the code and instructions to someone else on the right side of the page.

Is the Jobs Widget available in any other languages?

Yes! At the bottom of the Jobs Widget code, you can select which language you'd like the widget to display in.

  • This will display the set field names (such as "location" and "job description") in a different language.
  • You will need to translate the text in the fields to the language of your choice (such as the actual application questions and the entire job descriptions text).
  • We currently offer the Jobs Widget in English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Danish, Italian, Norwegian, Dutch, Finnish, and Polish.
  • Once you choose a language and click "Save," the widget will automatically update to the new language. You do not need to regenerate or replace the widget code on your website. However, it may take a few minutes for the language changes to display.

Can I organize the jobs on my Jobs Widget in a different order?

Yes! Any Super Admin on the account can set the organization of the jobs. Here are the steps to do so:

  • Click on the arrow next to your initials to access "Company Settings" in the upper right corner of your account.

  • Under "Job Boards and Publishing," click on "Grouping Jobs on widget & hosted site."

  • Choose in the dropdown if you'd like to sort the jobs by location, position type (entire time/part-time/contract), or teams (more on teams below)

What are "Teams"?

Great question! Teams are categories that you set - they could be departments (such as "Marketing" or "Sales"), or perhaps regions or areas (such as "The United States" and "Canada"). It is entirely customizable for how you'd like to group the jobs.

  • When you select "Teams," you will be able to manage the team setup from this page; simply click "Manage teams."

  • Now click the checkbox beside any openings you'd like to be in your first team, and then click "Move to Team."

  • Type in the name of the team. If you already have an opening in this team, it will find that team as you type for you to add this opening too. If this is a new team, you will type the full team name here. To save the team selection, click "Save."

  • Afterward, you'll be able to see the team you selected for your opening.

  • Continue these steps until all of your openings are organized to your liking.

Can I filter the jobs on my Jobs Widget?

Yes! Any Super Admin on the account can enable filtering of jobs by either location, team, or both!

What if I want to make other customizations? Do you offer a Jobs API?

Below the Jobs Widget, there is a dropdown to allow you to make further changes to the code. Clicking this opens the complete code for editing.

We also offer an opening API that you can write yourself. You can learn more about that by clicking here. You can also see an example of a company using the API by clicking here.

Do I need to do anything special if my website is hosted on WordPress?

The widget can be added easily to a post or page in WordPress!

Toggle the text entry box on the post or page to "Text" (instead of "Visual") and then paste the code information.

Can I use the widget with a React Web App?

Yes - with some modifications! We've written a wrapper to help with this. You can find this code here.

To use the wrapper, use <Trakstar HireWidget id={YOUR NUMBER} /> where Id props are the ID of a widget that is present in the widget code.

Do I need to do anything when I add or edit jobs?

No. The jobs will update automatically on the Jobs Widget.

Can you give me examples of your widget used in existing websites?

Yes, we use the widget for our own careers site on Trakstar.com!

Don't have a website to share your jobs on? We've got you covered with a free Hosted Careers Site! You can also push your jobs directly to job boards and share links to specific jobs on social media!
